  About Sue

Qualifications

I trained as a Hypno-Psychotherapist with the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (NCHP) in Oxford. As part of my training I have also studied NLP and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). I am committed to continued personal development and in my spare time can usually be found studying.

I am a Graduate of the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (NCHP) which has been offering respected, evidence-based and independently accredited hypnotherapy training, hypnosis training and psychotherapy training since 1977. This makes the National College one of the longest established and most respected hypnotherapy/hypno-psychotherapy training institutes in the world.

National College training is at post graduate level. The total number of study hours required to complete the course varies depending on what prior knowledge a student brings to the course. However, monitoring of past students' study patterns suggests that for a student with little prior knowledge of hypnosis, psychotherapy or psychology, total study hours up to UKCP registration level may amount to 1,800 hours over a four year period. This total includes class contact and supported self-study, but does not include the time spent on written examinations, supervision or self-therapy.

I am a member of the National Register for Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists (NRHP). NRHP registered therapists will abide by a code of ethics set out by their professional governing body and their practice will be suitably insured. They will have been professionally trained and will be committed to maintaining their professional expertise through a continuous professional development programme.

Members will also have regular and appropriate professional supervision and consultative support and the client will at all times be treated with respect and discretion. The entire therapeutic relationship will be treated as confidential as explained by the therapist at the initial consultation.

I am also a member of the National Council of Hypnotherapy (NCH), the NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners and the UK Confederation of Hypnotherapy Organisations (UKCHO)
